Bone marrow smear evaluations have been conducted from approximately 200 toxicology studies, with the majority of these being GLP-compliant.
The smear evaluations encompass qualitative cytologic and semi-quantitative or quantitative (differential counts) examinations according to study and client requirements.
Microscopic examination of peripheral blood smears and histologic sections of bone marrow and other potentially hematopoietic tissues (e.g. spleen, liver) can be performed to complement the marrow smear evaluations.
Results of evaluation of bone marrow smears are reported in an integrative manner with due consideration to other relevant study findings as well as test agent properties.
