Scientists at CanBioPharma Consulting provide educational workshops in two broad areas: drug discovery & development; and applied clinical pathology and anatomic pathology for non-pathologists mainly related to nonclinical drug development programs.
We have provided 1-hour introductory sessions as well as half-day, one-day, 2-day and 5-day courses or workshops. Clients have included: regulatory agencies; universities and colleges; contract research organizations; and private companies. Audiences have included: regulatory reviewers of drugs, biologics and pesticides; toxicologists; graduate and undergraduate students; and postgraduate students in regulatory affairs diploma courses.
Nonclinical drug discovery and development
An overview of the drug discovery & development process is given. Fundamentals of nonclinical pharmacology, safety pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology (general toxicology, genetic toxicology, carcinogenicity studies, reproductive toxicology) are covered mainly as these relate to support of clinical development of therapeutic agents, with reference to current regulatory, GLP and scientific guidelines.
Applied clinical pathology and anatomic pathology for non-pathologists
Insight is given regarding the approaches, methods and terminology used by clinical and anatomic pathologists in specimen evaluation and data interpretation for regulatory toxicity studies.
